Empowering through education.
he Afrodeities Foundation CIO exists to advance education, arts, culture and heritage through the preservation and dissemination of African and diasporic knowledge systems. Across many global contexts, these histories, traditions and intellectual frameworks remain underrepresented, fragmented or misinterpreted. The Foundation addresses this gap through structured research, publications and public programmes designed to make this knowledge accessible, coherent and publicly available.
The organisation’s work focuses on identifying, documenting and presenting cultural traditions, oral histories, mythological systems and knowledge frameworks that have shaped communities across Africa and the global diaspora. These are approached not as isolated artefacts, but as interconnected systems of meaning, identity and continuity.
Through lectures, workshops, exhibitions and digital platforms, the Foundation creates opportunities for public engagement with this material. Activities are designed to be inclusive and accessible, encouraging participation from a wide range of audiences regardless of background. Where appropriate, events are offered free of charge or at a level that does not restrict access.
The Foundation also supports cultural exchange between communities in different regions, recognising the shared and evolving nature of diasporic histories. By facilitating dialogue, collaboration and knowledge-sharing, it strengthens connections across geographies while deepening understanding of cultural continuity and divergence.
All work is carried out for the public benefit, with a focus on education, cultural understanding and the long-term preservation of knowledge systems that are of significant historical and cultural value.
